Toys are essential parts of a kid's development. It somehow represents what kind of thing or where his enthusiasm lies, or will lie. Some toys even detect gender preferences; since boys play with cars, robots, guns and swords, while girls play with dolls, doll houses and cooking set toys.
Any point of reversal and deviance will somehow mean something is wrong, of course with the help of our discriminative cultures. Well personally, as a little kid, I was a wooden train enthusiast. Up until now, I still find myself bewildered by the new generation of toy trains I didn't see back when life was still carefree and there were lesser responsibilities. Well enough about my childhood. Once in a while, I still check out the recent breakthroughs and designs on the toy train commercial market.

Toy trains are one of the most intelligent toys that a parent can give to his kids. It is a very good choice for substituting those stupid action figure things and robots. At least, your children would envision things that do exist in our reality, and not have their little minds set on being super heroes or massive robot pilots.
What is so amazing with these wooden toy trains is that they are based on trains that exist, or once existed on planet earth. It has an intellectual feel to it, as the tracks are more than fixing the costumes and stuff done with other toys.
Let us take a small recall journey with the great ancestral domain of the now; modern technology infused wooden toy trains in the market today. In the United States, the wooden trains were first transformed into toys back in 1930's. So our modern wooden toy trains' ancestors are about 70 years old in age. The models were usually made of Maple tree wood.
These old wooden train models stayed colorless, without any paint at all, and were usually not too detailed. It had wooden wheels and unlike the models of today, they were not running on the tracks yet. It took some time to make these babies ride the tracks on their own.
Fast forward to this day, the wooden toy train that used to be traditional is now packed with more heat. It has a more sophisticated design and detail. Magnets now hold each train cab, and the tracks are more complicated with the "clickety clack" system, whatever that means.
